Favourites

Here’s a selection of my favourite images.

Chong Khneas floating village, Tonle Sap lake, Cambodia.

Chong Khneas floating village, Tonle Sap lake, Cambodia. Look at the attitude on that face! And a great pose too. I like the way the timbers work graphically, especially the silhouetted window.

Young girl in a metal bowl floating on Tonle Sap lake. This little girl was returning from the sweet shop with her purse and a packet of M&Ms. The reflections on the water combined with the sky merging into the lake add to the tranquil atmosphere. Note the solar panel on the roof.

Inside the Sagrada Família.

Inside the Sagrada Família. This is a poor quality photograph in terms of light, exposure, etc. but is a great composition. The detail in the architecture is incredible and always captivates me.

A misty start.

A misty start. I just love the way that the cobweb echoes the construction of a cartwheel.

Elterwater, Lake District.

Elterwater, Lake District. My eye is always down to the one tree on top of the hill.

Illegal Head, Lake District.

Hide and Sheep. I like the layers of cloud, then hills, then rocks. The horizontal clouds and hills then diagonal rocks make a nice composition. The sheep is looking straight at the camera and sits in the top right corner. His mate is hiding right in the middle of the shot hence the title. I turned it to black and white to enhance the layers but I’m still not sure.
